For a super finished artist like Manu Kongolo should be in big animation houses like Dreamworks or event disney. But then again with such a lack of presence of talented individuals like Manu one would probably want to keep him in the continent to circulate and inspire us with unique style and approach to caricatures. Currently residing in Johannesburg, you can feel Manu’s sense of professionalism and a child like liberal sense of imagination which he puts in bringing characters alive.
He’s contemporary sense of telling the modern Black woman story and how he’s raising the dignity of beauty, is seen almost through out all his work. One can see his will to tell a new narrative of the social content, which lands him some commissioned jobs using this labour of love skill.
